In Australia, I always use the immediate rudeness: "Don't f**ing call me anymore".
Telemarketers always call you if you show a slightest sign of keenness or curiosity. So do not give them what they want. It is their job to annoy people and probably one of of a hundred, they might have one person interested in buying the products. Don't waste your time being polite to them.
It's not just in US that telemarketing is annoying. I received several in Vietnam as well.
In Vietnam, politeness is probably ok: "Anh biết dịch vụ này nhưng anh ko quan tâm đến, cảm ơn em" and as soon as you say thank you, other end will also thank you beforing u hang up.
